• Identify priority areas for stakeholders to invest in R&D to achieve overall cost reductions and increased Canadian industrial and economic benefits.

• Identify key technologies that electric vehicle industry needs in order to succeed in the future, and the steps required to get those technologies developed and implemented by the Canadian industry

• Support Canada’s strategy for GHG reductions and address our energy, economic and environmental priorities

• Bringing together technology stakeholders, producers, operators and users to develop a single set of objectives for electric vehicle energy R&D and innovation

• Identifying and scoping the electric vehicle industry needs to realize the technology opportunities

• Developing effective and realistic recommendations

• Strengthening interaction between the public and private sectors

• Identifying realistic solutions to the resolution of technology, policy and other industrial hurdles to foster the growth of the electric vehicle industry in Canada
